HealthStar Home Health has some pretty impressive employees with an extraordinary range of skills and backgrounds. From our Nurses and Caregivers in client homes providing one-on-one care, to our team of administrative professionals working “behind the scenes” to make sure operations are running smoothly, HealthStar has quite the team focused on providing the best care possible to our clients.
Lillian has only been with the HealthStar team since November 2022… But that does not mean she hasn’t already made huge impact on the organization! When our long time Director Jayne Brinkman retired in December 2022 we knew whoever stepped into her role had some big shoes to fill. Lillian has jumped right into the role and has become a beloved member of the Corporate office. Her dedication to providing education and training to her offices, her ability to jump into any situation with a positive “can-do” attitude, and the dedication to our clients is what makes her great. Welcome to the team, Lillian!
Q: What do you do at HealthStar? What does a typical day look like for you?
A: I am the Director of Operations for the HCBS. I have 4 branches that I oversee that provide services for PCA, IHS, ICLS and Homemaking Services. Due to being new to HealthStar and my role, I am still figuring out what a typical day is going to look like.
Q: Before working at HealthStar, what was the most interesting or unusual job you’ve ever had?
A: The most interesting job I had was being a Firefighter for my city of IGH. It was the most physical job I ever did, and made me realize that what they show on TV shows is not actually how real life events happen. I spend a lot of time yelling at the TV when this shows are on!
Q: How has HealthStar helped in your career development?Â
A: I have the passion to support people in many different health care settings and now thanks to HealthStar I get to experience Home Health Care
Q: If you could have an unlimited supply of one thing (except money), what would it be and why?
A: Chapstick because whenever I need some I can’t find mine!
Q: What’s one thing most people don’t know about you?
A: I was bit by a dog when I was two years old! I had a fear of dogs for many years, for the most part I have overcome this.
Q:What did you want to be when you grew up?
A: I wanted to be a police officer or paramedic. I went to school for Law Enforcement and decided it was not for me and never got around to going to school to be a Paramedic due to life getting in the way. I ended up going to school to be an EMT in 2015 which is a step under a Paramedic.
Q: What do you like to do when you’re not working?
A: I love the Alexandria MN area. I have family in that area and a lake home that I tend to spend most weekends in the summer. I love being on the water on the boat, kayaking and paddleboarding.
