banner with "Employee Spotlight" repeating

HealthStar Home Health has some pretty impressive employees with an extraordinary range of skills and backgrounds. From our Nurses and Caregivers in client homes providing one-on-one care, to our team of administrative professionals working “behind the scenes” to make sure operations are running smoothly, HealthStar has quite the team focused on providing the best care possible to our clients.

Claire is celebrating her 1 year anniversary with the company this month. There is no better time to put the spotlight on her! She’s known for her unconditional love for her guinea pig Pipp. But she’s also known for keeping the Bemidji office in tip-top organizational shape. Working as an Office Coordinator means a LOT of multi-tasking. This is especially true for the Bemidji office who manages multiple service lines. Making client visits, helping in payroll, and maintaining records just to name a few of Claire’s everyday tasks. Her organizational skills and commitment to our clients makes Claire the PERFECT fit at our Bemidji office!

Q: What do you do at HealthStar? What does a typical day look like for you?
A: I am the Office Coordinator at the Bemidji office. A typical day involves completing any visit notes sent in to make payroll on Mondays easier 😛 I also try to make my coworkers laugh or smile throughout the day 🙂

Q: Before working at HealthStar, what was the most interesting or unusual job you’ve ever had?
A: I use to be the manager at GNC. It’s in the mall so I met a lot of interesting characters during my time there.

Claire Sletten, Office Coordinator

Q: What advice would you have for candidates looking to work at HealthStar?
A: Organization is PARAMOUNT. I had to up my game when I started working here.

Q: How would you describe HealthStar in 3 words?
A: Understanding, Flexible, Fun.

Q: What’s one thing people don’t know about you?
A: I had lasik done last year 🙂 no more glasses!

Q: What has been your favorite project you’ve worked on at HealthStar?
A: I enjoy any project that involves organizing. One of the big projects our office completed was organizing all of the COVID sheets. We had to separate employees from clients and then separate all the employees and all the clients. Afterwards, we had folders with hand written names on them. I created stickers for all of them and swapped the old folders for new ones. It’s so satisfying seeing uniform stickers and folders vs the mess we started with.

Q: What do you like to do when you’re not working?
A: You can find me at the gym working out. Otherwise, I am at home watching movies and spending time with my guinea pig Pipp.

Q: What is your motto or personal mantra?
A: Don’t worry about your mistakes. They are in the past and you can’t change them. Learn from them and move on.

Q: What do you like most about your job at HealthStar?
A: I appreciate the flexibility. My manager understands the importance of work life balance.

Q: If you could be any fictional character, who would you be?
A: Iron Man.
